Basic Hubsess Questions.
What is Hubsess?
Hubsess is a new website to get information about everything you love. Hubsess makes finding news, discussion, pictures, and websites about the things you love easier than ever. This is accomplished using Hubs. Click here to learn what a Hub is. You can relate yourself to a Hub. For example I could relate myself to the Hubs from my hometown, high school, college, favorite sports teams, and TV shows. I can then use that Hub to interact to other people who are related to that Hub.
What makes Hubsess different from other news/information sites?
Hubsess allows you to get the news you want, while skipping the news you don't want. Hubsess gets news from two sources. Users can submit news stories, and tag them to hubs. Users can also submit an RSS feed and get Hubsess will automatically add stories from that RSS feed to a Hub's news.

Hubsess allows ordinary people to write news stories on their blog, and submit them to Hubsess. This means that you no longer have to rely on traditional media sources for your your news.

Hubsess also allows you to vote on stories. Each story will have a score. That score will go up and down, depening on user's votes. This score will help other users decide whether a story is a good read, or something they should pass on. Users also can discuss a story.

Hub Questions.
What is a Hub?
A Hub can be anything in the world. It can be a person, a place, a thing, an idea....ANYTHING!!! The most popular Hub types are TV Shows, Cities/Towns, Sports Teams, Video Games, Restaurants, Bars, Actors/Actresses, Movies, Businesses, Colleges, High Schools, or Apartment Complexes. You can create a Hub for anything you like.

Are there limitations on what a Hub cannot be?
We ask that you limit Hubs to tasteful items. Please don't make pornographic, hateful, tasteless, or rude Hubs.
Who can create Hubs?
Anyone can create a Hub!! All that we ask is that you do not duplicate Hubs. Please check to make sure a Hub does not exists when you create it.

If duplicate Hubs are created, please notify the Hub admins. These Hubs will be combined into one Hub.
Can I delete a Hub?
You cannot currently delete a Hub. If you would like to delete a Hub please e-mail: webmaster@hubsess.com
What if there are duplicate Hubs?
If there are duplicate Hubs, please e-mail the Hubsess webmaster and will combine them. Combining hubs will keep relationships from both Hubs, along with news, pictures, discussions, and related websites.
How can I customize my Hub?
Right now the only way to customize a Hub is to the change the colors of the Hub, and it's default image. You can change a Hub's picture from it's admin page. You can change the colors of a Hub on that Hubs' page. If you are an admin of a Hub, there should be a link that says 'Change Colors'.

Hub Relationship Questions.
What are Hub Relationships?
A relationship is the foundation of Hubsess. A Hub can be connected to another via a relationship. These relationships make navigating Hubsess easier.

Users can also relate themselves to a Hub.

An example of relationships is:
The Kansas City Hub is related to many Hubs.

Some of these relationships are to the following Hubs:
Kansas City Chiefs(The Chiefs play in Kansas city)
University of Missouri - Kansas City(The University of Missouri - Kansas City is located in Kansas city)
Sprint Center(The Sprint Center is a stadium located in Kansas city)
Kansas City Royals(The Royals play in Kansas city)
Ryan Eade(Ryan lives in a Kansas City)
Who decides what a Hub's Relationships are?
You Do!!
If you are the Admin of a Hub, you can relate your Hub to another Hub. You don't need to be the admin for both hubs. As long as you are the Admin of one of the Hubs, you can relate another Hub to the Hub you created.
How do I relate the Hub I created to another Hub?
You can get the Hub relation page 2 ways. You can go to the Admin page of the Hub. From there click 'Add/Remove Related Hubs' link to be brought to the Hub relation page.
You can also reach this page from the main page of the Hub. If you are an Admin for that Hub, there should be a link under the Related Hubs section. This link will say 'Add a Relation'. Click this link to be brought to the Hub relation page.
How do I delete a Hub Relationship?
You can delete a Hub from the same page where you create the relationship. To reach this page you can go to the Admin page of the Hub. From there click 'Add/Remove Related Hubs' link to be brought to the Hub relation page.
You can also reach this page from the main page of the Hub. If you are an Admin for that Hub, there should be a link under the Related Hubs section. This link will say 'Add a Relation'. Click this link to be brought to the Hub relation page.

Once you are at this page, find the Hub which you want to delete, and click the trash can icon. This will delete the relationship.
How do I change the relationship reason?
To change the relationship reason you will have to delete the existing relationship, and then add a new relationship with the corrected relationship reason.
How do I suggest a relation for a Hub?
If you are logged in, you will see a link at the bototm of the related Hubs section of the main page. It will say, suggest a relation. Click this link, and search for the Hub you think should be related.
Hubsess News Questions.
What is Hubsess news?
Hubsess news is a news story from a site on the internet. A news story can be anything you can link to. You can link to newspaper stories, YouTube videos, blogs, pictures, podcasts, or anything else. News stories are tagged to one or more Hubs. You can then go to a Hub's page, and find news stories about that Hub. You can also add a Hub to a News List and get stories through that News List. How are News stories gathered?
News stories are gathered 2 ways. Users can submit individual news stories by clicking the Add News Story link in the Contribute menu at the top. Users can also specify an RSS feed that Hubsess will crawl and gather news stories from. Click here to learn more about adding RSS feeds to your Hub.
How do I vote on stories?
If you are logged in, you should see plus/minus buttons next to a news story. If you think a news story is interesting, click the plus. If you didn't like a story, click the minus. If you are logged in and don't see the plus/minus buttons, then you have already voted on that story.
How does a story become popular?
A story becomes popular after it reaches a certain number of votes. This number is different for every Hub. Stories on some Hubs become popular after 2 votes, while others take more votes. It is all dependent on how active the Hub is.
Hubsess News Lists Questions.
What is a News Lists?
A News List is what makes Hubsess.com unlike any other Web Site. A News List is a list of Hubs. Once you create you this list of Hubs, Hubsess will collect the News from these Hubs.

You can use News Lists to create your own personal newspaper. You can collect stories from the town you live in, your favorite sports team, your college, your high school, and anything else you want!.

Political News - A collection of politicians, and political themed Hubs..
Big 12 Football News - A collection of Big 12 football team's Hubs..
How do I create a News List?
You can create a New List using links in the top menu. In the My News menu, click Create News List. This will bring you to the page where you can create a News List. First you name your News List, then you select Hubs for the News List. You can select Hubs that you are related to, that are in your favorites, or you can search for a Hub to add. Once you click the Create New List button, you will be brought to your new List.
How do I add a Hub to a News List?
You can add a Hub to a News List in 2 ways. You can click on the Edit This List when you are viewing the List. This will bring you to the same page where you created the list. You can then search for Hubs to add, or remove Hubs. The other way to add a Hub to a News List is done directly from the Hub's Main Page. When you are on a Hub that you want to add to a News List, click the Add to a News List link. This will bring up a menu where you can add the Hub to an existing News List, or add it to a new News List.
How do I remove a Hub from a News List?
To remove a Hub you must click on the Edit This List when you are viewing the List. This will bring you to the same page where you created the list. From this page, you can remove Hubs from a News List. Click Save List and your updated list will be saved.
How do I change the way I view my News List?
While viewing a News List, there a links at the top to change the view. These views are:
Group By Hubs - Shows news from one Hub at a time and has a sidebar for easy navigation between Hubs.
List - List all stories from all Hubs in a News List. Can be sorted by date, or by score.
Newspaper - Lists stories in a 3-column newspaper view. You can choose how many stories are shown from each Hub, and the location of each Hub in the newspaper.
